Pumps for Edible Oil Applications in Food Production

Edible oils are produced as an end product for consumers and also used in the production of food products, such as tortilla chips, potato chips, and corn chips.  Depending on the region of the world, dozens of different types of plant seeds and fruit are used for the manufacture of the edible oil.  Oils extracted from seeds include peanuts, rapeseed, soybeans, flax seeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, and the like.  Fruits are another source for edible oils and include pulp extracted from avocados, olives, and palms.  Many other kinds of vegetable oils are also used for cooking.

Tri-Rotor has extensive experience in the edible oil industry and has been designing pumps specifically for this market for over 50 years.  The Tri-Rotor pump ideal for edible oil applications is a Model 20DV pump in all iron construction, built with a hardened stainless steel shaft, a steel piston, a heavy duty spring, a Type 1 mechanical seal, sanitarily prepared, with the entire pump stainless steel epoxy coated for added protection.  The Manual Flow Control (MFC) comes standard and the Pressure Regulating Control (PRC) is offered as an option.

Full mounted units include a stainless steel wash-down motor and a stainless steel guard, a grease feeder for lubrication, all mounted and aligned on a specially designed stainless steel base plate.
